ketchup, catsup or catch up

just posting a couple of pix that i meant to do ages ago. i saw this sign on the subway in august on our way to see the musical "wicked." maybe it's just me, but i found it to be quite funny. doesn't it seem to imply that all other new yorkers are blind and mute? and why did those 1,944 new yorkers only see and say one thing all year?

here's the group of us that went to "wicked." i'm still trying to figure out how i can justify going again; it was that amazing.

April I have just been able to read your blog after a couple rounds of fifth disease, ear tubes, and general craziness. I love reading all the crazy and fun things that happen. I'm glad you have such fond memories of you grandfather. I love what you wrote about Pres. Hinckley. Lily cracks me up (I feel your pain). Herb asked me if you had a child named Fritz, I told him no, it was Evan. Is there a story here? I call Alex, Captain Alex, he thinks he is a pirate. Unfortunately, he an evil captain, he always sounds intimidating. I think your your hair looks great, and it's the thought that counts. BTW, Herb and Sophie have high arches too. I really do not like taking Sophie shoe shopping. She is way picky.
P.S. Herb put my picture on this and I really, it is really huge. He loves to see my face more than I do!

ok, i love wicked too, but i'm guessing that i'm the only one who thought that sign was funny. that's how it was on the subway ride too.

elizabeth - sorry you've had a run of illness too. i'll explain the fritz thing in a post soon and you look beautiful in closeup (you ARE beautiful). herb did a nice job with the pix. i was really glad to read that high arch thing - it made me feel so much better about my pickiness. oh, and my girls have it too.

quotables

"is that lily holding baby lily?" -lily's response when i showed her a picture of gracie holding her when lily was a baby.

"drama class is actually a lot of fun." -gracie (this is only humorous in that grace seemed surprised by how much she likes drama class. this from my child who we refer to as "a drama queen" when she is not around.)

"mom, you can go with my teacher and i'll stay home with japie and evan. daddy can go to work, and i'll be the mommy" -lily, in response to learning that she would be going to preschool next year instead of this year.

"mom, if you don't get rid of that smell soon, you're going to have to buy a new car." -gracie when it took me a couple of days to clean out my car after returning from a road trip.

"mommy, they have dress-ups for you!" -lily while walking by the prom dress section at macy's.

"i said the prayer "last"-erday." -lily's replacement word for "yesterday."
