last saturday, we went to massachusettes to an air show. the highlight of the show was a performance by the air force thunderbirds. they surprised/scared all of us when they detract your attention to watching four planes performing a formation when all of a sudden a fifth plane goes screeching across the sky. lily got a little shaken up by it, but it was a pretty cool move and by far they got the majority of the audience with their trick.
the harrier plane (pictured below) can hover in the air and make vertical landings.
this is some of the kids with the thunderbirds doctor. if she grounds one pilot, it becomes are five man show and if she grounds the commander, the performance is cancelled. there are no back-up pilots since the training is continuous and intense.
friends of ours were also at the air show. evan kept trying to tackle (with good success) lily's friend, anabelle. anabelle was a great sport about it, but we chuckled about how many years until this would be inappropriate.
despite the clouds, it was a humid day and we all got sunburns. here are some of the kids cooling off on some ice that had been dumped out of a cooler.

Looks like fun! I love the airshow I think that are coming back to hill air force base this coming summer -hurray! I bet the kids loved it! I don't remember if I ever mentioned it but I absolutely love the pictures of your family that you had done. They all turned about amazing.
I'm going to answer your previous two posts on this one -- April, you are the most amazing mother in the universe. And if you didn't complain about it from time to time, well, you'd be unbearably perfect and that would be ANNOYING. As it stands, you're perfect. And I used to hate it when older women said this to me, but . . . it does go by fast. Take heart! You inspire.
I personally think it's hysterical to watch Evan tackle people. He's usually so mellow and then he just gets all crazy and WWE about it. It's great fun.
Oh, we almost went to that show but were too leery of the impending rain. Too bad we didn't brave it, looks like we really missed out. And the rain held out until after the show, gah! My parents went and had a great time, too.
