pat's birthday was this past saturday. for his birthday, my good friend, analia, and i negotiated and then bought him his dream car - a mini-cooper S. i got to sing "big guy in a little car" (think chris farley in "tommy boy") to him and feel like i've assured his happiness for at least the next 10 years or so. here are some pics from when we picked the car up. my parents and my niece were with us (hence the extra child in the pics). later, my parents watched all the kids so we could take a drive and go out to eat.

What a cute car!!! I am so glad that someone is living my dream to own a mini cooper!! And smart move to take Analia with you as well, I hear she is a tough bargainer. I am thrilled for you!!

Happy Birthday, Pat! You are the fourth ridiculously tall man I know that drives a mini cooper. It is a phenomenon I have yet to understand. But I hope you have a blast! (and, as I'm sure you probably already know, you picked a swell wife!)
Glad Pat loved the surprise. The car is sure cute. And I'm loving the picture with all of the kids in it! I so wanted to sing the BIG Guy in a little car song but we were at church and I thought it wasn't good timing...next time!

april, i've always been impressed by you but am now even more so. how on earth did you surprise your hubs with a CAR? that's sooo cool. i'd be too freaked out to go and do that, but I guess the decision was already made if you knew what he wanted...so cool. hope he enjoys it. he deserves it i'm sure.
